This week we go from overcoming the challenge of opposition, in the last Plesson, to the central principle of receiving favor from God. The two topics also overlap as God’s use of opposition is also favor that works to develops us. However, here we largely focus on a meditation that can help you realize a more obvious type of “positive” favor.
And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people. Exodus 11:3 (ESV)
(1) INSTRUCTIONS
(1.1) Go after favor
This Plesson teaches how to increase your understanding and faith so that you can see more of God's favor in your life. Understanding and realizing favor (i.e., help) in our lives is foundational to having success with God. To grow your faith in this area, identify something you're working on, and apply the instructions below to what is going on.
(1.2) Align with righteousness
What you're doing should be something that aligns with God's will, at least as far as you honestly understand it (e.g., 1 Samuel 16:7; Psalm 37:23-24). You should be trying to follow God, and seeking righteousness in general. Then, examples of favor might include new business coming at the right time, a relationship aligning for your benefit, or financial help.
