An Eclipse Speaks (free)
And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.” And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.” Luke 8:45-49 (ESV)
(1) Fighting for the healing
What might faith in God's healing look like in 2024? Jesus came to save us from all sorts of evil here and now, in addition to giving us eternal life (e.g., Matthew 16:15-20; Acts 3:6-8); Romans 5; Ephesians 3:20).
Here, I look at some of what it takes to be healed by Jesus, and then tell the story of a present-day believer who lived with an ailment but refused to accept it. The enemy throws all sorts of evil our way, but we can choose to fight, whether it be things like cancer, covid complications, psychological problems, or even diabetes.
Some will say that suffering is a part of life, and that many people don't get healed. That's true, but the Word is the Word, and it says that Jesus saves, that faith is powerful, and that we should fight for it (e.g., John 10:10; Romans 5:17; 1 Timothy 6:12; 2 Timothy 4:7; Jude 1:3;).
