Today I’m introducing a new twist on a story—with a focus on analysis, discussion, and training. In business school, we used cases to learn (as with law schools or other settings). So I thought, why not try this format here.
The business case trains decision-making with no single right answer, and law schools train reasoning. Plaitra’s cases can train your ability to understand the Word of God. This includes understanding what can happen as we walk things out with God—and why.
So if we’re working together, here we’ll talk about what can happen in David’s life going forward—and why.
She might want a divorce, and the situation might look lost. But even if that happens—his righteousness from God does not change, nor does God’s promise of His benefits.
(1) David's plight
What is possible after someone releases a major mistake by receiving righteousness from God? You might have meditated using last week's Plesson, but want to understand more about how your faith in righteousness can actually transform your life.
Take a look at David, who meditates on how he has God's righteousness, while dealing with a financial deception that he has hidden from his wife. Can his faith in righteousness actually fix the situation?
Your situation is probably different, and maybe you're dealing with a professional mistake of some sort instead of a relational one. But if you can see how God helps David here, you'll be more able to see how God can help you.
(2) David's righteousness
David has been learning more about what God's righteousness means for his life and meditating on it. He used to struggle with shame and worry because of his mistakes but has now realized that, because of Jesus, God deems him clean, and is therefore with him.
