Here’s this week’s story showing the meditation from last week in action. You might remember David from two weeks ago, as he grabbed hold of his righteousness from God and stopped feeling guilty about his big financial mistake. Here’s the next chapter, as he learns to stop worrying about his finances because of who he is in Christ.

There are still questions in Section 7 and so it’s still kind of the case format I mentioned in that story. But these questions ask you to reflect on how all this relates to something you want to improve in your life. I’m constantly adjusting things according to what helps the people I work with and hear from.

His new reality in Christ has been combined with his study of Psalm 23, and he learns to rest in his green pastures (Psalm 23:1-2).

(1) Breaking the chains

How can faith in becoming a new creation in Christ actually transform life? Last week, you might have meditated on how a certain old trait is gone and the new has come, but would like to now use this faith in action.

Here we see how David from two weeks ago, having overcome his financial guilt with God's righteousness, now actually learns to stop worrying about his finances. See how his identity in Christ empowers him to quickly fix a weakness that has plagued him in life.

You might not have financial issues like David and think there's little to learn here. However, you might want to see how a man’s closeness to Jesus helps him get rid something that has been bringing him down his whole life.

(2) Because it’s been paid for

David has been learning what it means to be a new creation in Christ and how this can free him from financial stress. He grew up in poverty, but he's now breaking his spirit of lack and worry concerning his finances.
