This Plesson follows and is closely related to the last one, Releasing that Mistake. There we worked through how to let go of a past mistake, while here the focus is on embracing the new identify. And so, this Plesson can be thought of as the next step of the process of leaving a bad things behind. Both principles are tightly connected and apply to one’s efforts to become a new person in Christ. The more you understand the various crucial points about who Jesus is and what He did, the more you can step into a better life.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
(1) INSTRUCTIONS
(1.1) Putting on a new identity
This Plesson and meditation are about "putting on" a new part of one’s identity in Christ, and leaving the old bad things behind. It's closely tied with the principle of receiving righteousness from God (see the last Plesson), with this new creation principle focusing on what we become. So, for example, here you can gain more faith to become the new you who no longer worries and trusts God, or another better trait.
(1.2) In and with Christ
You can put on the new and put off the old by understanding and accepting who Christ is and what He did. Jesus Christ redeemed the sin (i.e., the bad) of humanity when He paid for it with His death and resurrection, and enabled us to get close to God (e.g., 2 Corinthians 5:17; 21). In the above worry and trust example, being in Christ means that God doesn't see you a someone who worries, and you need to put on this identity with faith.
